Preps.com gets the opportunity to attend camps each year and get close to some of the top players in the country.  This past weekend we attended NFTC Columbus at “The Ohio State”  and got the chance to see the countries #1 player Da’Shawn Hand and some of the top QB’s in the country at the Elite 11 the day before.  No disrespect to any of the talented players in this years group, but it’s time to give credit, where credit is due.

At the PA Swag 7 on 7 hosted by Ed O’Brien at Plymouth Whitemarsh we had the chance to meet Erasmus Hall Class of 2014 standout Curtis Samuel.  After listeining to Erasmus assistant Coach Ray Lizzi talk about how gifted Brooklyn’s finest was, we decided to go back to the tape and see if the hype was real.

After a couple seconds of watching Samuel’s HUDL tape, we understood why Urban Meyer has Samuel’s number on speed dial.  In a class that seems a little watered down compared to the past two years.  Samuel brings a taste of fresh air and reminds you of blue chippers like Stefon Diggs, Cyrus Jones and Robert Foster, just to name a few.

The minute you toss on the BK Baller’s tape you see why Percy Harvin comparisons have been thrown out there.  Samuel possesses all the tools that made Stefon Diggs the game breaker he was for University of Maryland as a freshman.  His explosive first step, impressive ball skills, and elusive running style scream blue chipper.

Don’t be surprised to see the prime time players stock continue to rise and eventually find his way into the countries top 25.  Below are highlights of Samuel from NFTC NY/NJ along with his Junior year highlights.  Keep an eye out for Samuel when he’s on television participating in Nike’s “The Opening” in Oregon.
