In a region known for churning out top notch defensive backs, being tabbed the next  shutdown corner in the area puts you in a fraternity of PA legends like Ty Law, Darrelle Revis, Justin King and more recently players like, Titus Howard, and Dravon Henry.  With that crown comes high expectations along with a target on your back with every receiver in the region trying to challenge you and prove they belong amongst the states elite.

Central Catholic sophomore Damar Hamlin based on his performance this past year looks like he’ll do just fine once camp season starts rolling and the bullets start flying.  With his long lean frame, he shows similarities to former Clairton lockdown corner and current Pitt defensive back Titus Howard.

Howard first hit the scene his sophomore year and earned respect by going toe to toe with at the time #1 receiver in the country, Robert Foster.  Hamlin, who was the starting corner for WPIAL Champion Central Catholic will get his chance to prove himself once 7 on 7 and camp season returns.

With fluid hips, great closing speed, and a surprisingly physical nature, the PCC lock down corner has all the tools necessary to become the “next” guy.  With the confidence to already compete at the highest level in the state, the Preps.com staff is excited to watch Hamlin grow and one day potentially become one of the nations top recruits.

With a few visits to the weight room and a desire to become great, as far as we’re concerned the sky is the limit for the Mckees Rocks native.  Hamlin’s story is still to be written, but don’t be surprised if this youngster continues making a name for himself and brings national attention to a school typically known for producing signal callers.

Below are Hamlin’s Highlight’s
