Preps.com pops our head back in Maryland to introduce one of the best looking underclassmen we’ve ever seen. The state of Maryland is known for producing some of the finest athletes in the nation, and this game breaker continues the area’s rich tradition.
Anybody that watches Steven Smothers is guaranteed to leave blown away by the playmakers overwhelming ability. Whether it’s him running a fade, or putting his foot in the ground and taking it the distance, Smothers has it all.
Over the past few years we’ve seen some of the Mid Atlantic and Mid West’s top athletes, and we must say Smothers may be the best one yet. We hate to jump the gun, particularly when you’re talking about guys like Robert Foster, Stefon Diggs, Jalin Marshall, and many more prime time players that are destine for BCS success, but this kid is the real deal.
The Franklin sophomore shows that second gear that surely will earn the attention of every major BCS program in the country. From everything I’ve gathered, Smothers is already considered a legend in his parts and rightfully so. With the type of talent you only see every couple of years, Smothers will need to stay humble and focused and everything else should be smooth sailing.
Whichever program is fortunate enough to land his services will be blessed with an athlete that could probably play right now as a sophomore in high school and be able to compete at the D1 level. Preps.com will continue to follow Smothers throughout his high school career and keep you updated on his recruiting.
Below are Smothers Sophomore Highlights
