Finestpreps.com finds its way “down south” to North Carolina to introduce you to another one of the countries top pass catchers. With the size of a hooper this Tar Heel recruit could easily be mistaken for one of Roy Williams top prospects.
MarQuez North is what I would like to call the “new school” receiver. At 6’3 205 North as a junior in high school already has the size NFL scouts look for. When you toss on the tape you also see North’s ability to elude defenders and take it the distance.
North is considered a top 5 receiver and has many similarities to Robert Foster out of Western Pennsylvania. North holds offers from just about every BCS school in the country and it is well warranted. Look for North Carolina to make a strong push to keep North at home, but the likes of Ohio State and Michigan are nipping at their Heels. Whoever gets him will have a receiver that has NFL potential. According to various recruiting services he has 4.4 speed and his highlight tape shows his ability to separate.
