After putting together a decent performance against the Florida State Seminoles in his college football debut, Tyler Boyd seemed to start right back where he ended his high school career with a phenomenal performance against New Mexico.

Boyd scored not only in the passing game, but also in the running game with a 30 yard jet sweep early in the game.  After pulling in a ridiculous catch even with defensive pass interference, Boyd then put the icing on the cake with his best Larry Fitzgerald impersonation right before the close of the half.

Having followed Boyd the past few years closely it’s starting to look like the Clairton bred playmaker is starting to get comfortable and that’s the last thing opposing defenders want.  Although it’s still early in the year, Boyd has clearly established himself as Pitt’s go to guy and the coaching staff has done everything in their power to keep feeding him the rock.

Boyd still has a long way to go as far as establishing himself as one of the countries top playmakers, but anyone who has watched the young playmaker would understand why the Pitt fan base is raving about the new addition to the Panther family.

Currently Boyd is in the same company as playmakers like Christian Jones and Stefon Diggs, so if he continues at this pace don’t be surprised for him to eventually find his way into Heisman talks by his sophomore or junior year, especially with his position versatility.

A fan base that has grown accustom to elite playmakers like Darrelle Revis, Larry Fitzgerald, and Lesean McCoy hopes that Tyler Boyd next will join the same company as those NFL standouts.  Below are highlights from Boyd’s performance last weekend.
