A couple weeks ago, Preps.com attended the regional Elite 11 at “The Ohio State” and came out of the event thoroughly impressed.  The event was a collection of some of the best QB’s in the country, but one in particular caught our eyes.

Every single year you attend events like VTO, NFTC, and Rivals Camp and fall in love with a kid.  Two years ago it was Toledo freshman Corey Jones and current Ohio State player Corey Smith from Akron Buchtel, and nobody has ever intrigued us the way Philly Phenom Will Fuller did the past two years in the camp circuit.
While Jones, Smith, and Fuller are all making the Preps.com staff proud when they’re tearing it up at their respective schools as freshman, Louisiana rising senior, Brandon Harris, will have Alabama, LSU, and Ohio State fan bases sweating bullets while he solidifies his spot in the Preps.com Hall of Fame and decides where he’ll be taking his talents to.
Don’t let his wiry frame fool you, this Bayou Bomber is a straight baller and after talking with his uncle and father you realize how tremendous his upside truly is.  Harris has never been formally taught how to play the position, but what jumps out to you immediately is the velocity of his balls with the snap of his wrist and how relaxed he remains under all conditions. His accuracy is impressive and athleticism may be his best attribute.
In the era of dual threat QB’s, Harris may be one of the best looking prospects since Killa’ Cam and RG3. Harris’ recruitment has gotten so real that, coincidentally, Les Miles and Cam Cameron’s sons attended the elite 11 hosted in Urban’s house. With an offense that fits Harris’ style perfectly and a QB headed to the NFL, Columbus seems like the perfect fit for the Shreveport native.
Having a 90+ fastball, if Les Miles lets this homegrown talent out of the state, he may have to answer a few questions. After Texas A&M seemed to fall out of the race with the Kyle Allen commit, Harris thanked the Aggie nation with class, and redirected his focus to other schools that fit his playing style.
The Buckeyes brought Urban Meyer to close “out of state” deals like this, so it’ll be interesting to see if the “Columbus Assassin” will be able to reel Harris out of the “Boot”. Preps.com will continue to follow the exciting recruitment of “class act” Brandon Harris and keep you informed with any updates.  Below is his tape from his junior year and performance at Elite 11 Dallas.  Enjoy.
