Dakota Conwell,a standout player from Upper St. Clair High School, announced earlier this afternoon that he will play for Pitt.
Conwell, a star quarterback and linebacker, turned down scholarship offers from schools such as Maryland, Toledo, and Temple for a chance to play for the Panthers.
“To me it was more of finding a really good fit,” Conwell said. “It was also kind of a dream come true to be playing for my home town.”
Conwell said he has grown up watching Pitt, and is honored to have the chance to play for the school. He is entering his senior year for Upper St. Clair, and looks to build on his strong junior season, as he was selected as a member of the Post-Gazette Fabulous 22.
