Preps.com spent the past several days at the Big 33 Football Classic practices at Lower Dauphin High School in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. The Big 33 Football Classic game itself will be played on Saturday, June 15, 2013. We had a chance to check out some of the recruits that will be playing football at the University of Pittsburgh next fall. According to Pitt’s top recruit out of the 2013 class, Tyler Boyd (Clairton H.S.), they will be reporting to Pitt on June 23, 2013. Below is a video of some of the Pitt recruits during practice this past week.
CLEEZY’S QUICK TAKE ON THE PITT RECRUITS
#21 (MD)Rachid Ibrahim – Running Back (6’1”, 180 LBS.) – Probably the best running back on the Maryland team. He looks like weighs more than the listed 180 pounds. He has what I would call a “smooth” running style with good speed.
#23 (PA)Tyler Boyd – Wide Receiver (6’2”, 205 LBS.) – Boyd is the best player on either team. Without giving too much away here, he has the potential to be the star of the 2013 Big 33 Football Classic. Given his pedigree, no one should be surprised if he comes up with several big plays this Saturday.
#79 (PA)Aaron Reese – Offensive Line (6’6”, 305 LBS.) – Even though he didn’t play during most of his 2012 senior season, it is obvious why Pitt offered him. He is every bit of 6’6” and carries the 300-plus pounds very well. Maryland’s defensive line will have problems getting past Reese.
#75 (PA)Jaryd Jones-Smith – Defensive Line (6’7”, 321 LBS.) – Jones-Smith has had a pretty good week at practice. Here’s another big kid that has a chance to be a big-time contributor at the next level. Maryland’s offensive line might have a hard time blocking Jones-Smith.
#47 (PA)Matt Galambos – Linebacker (6’2”, 228 LBS.) – Galambos is a very athletic looking linebacker. He’s had a good week of practice and has held his own going up against Team Pennsylvania’s huge offensive line.
#25 (PA)Titus Howard – Defensive Back (6’3”, 175 LBS.) – Howard quietly put together one of the more consistent days of practice when I was there. He had several pass breakups in Monday’s practice and has looked good in coverage.
#99 (PA) Ryan Winslow (6’5”, 205 LBS.) – Hey, you have to give placekickers love too….right?
