Head Coach – Marcus Hammond
The Next Level Greats 7v7 team made great strides during its first season travelling on the 7v7 circuit in 2013. Headed by Marcus Hammond (Next Level Quarterbacks) and Preston Brown (Great U Sports), the NLG outfit has down a lot towards getting South Jersey on the map in a short amount of time. Here are some of the best players returning from the 2013 team along with some who are first-time players for Next Level Greats.
QUICK OVERVIEW:
Let’s state the obvious: Irvin Charles (Paul IV High School) and Juwan Johnson (Glassboro High School) will be two of the best wide receivers on the field no matter what tournament NLG appears at. Irvin Charles has double-digit offers from schools that include: Rutgers, South Carolina, Pittsburgh, Mississippi, and Boston College. Johnson has double-digit offers from schools that include: Penn State, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Ohio State, and Michigan. One could argue that Charles started to make a name for himself while playing for NLG on the 7v7 circuit in 2013.
NLG has a few kids in the 2016 class that will have their own coming out party during the 2014 7v7 season. I would bet on Tyree Rodgers (Camden Catholic) and Brad Hawkins (Camden High School) making names for themselves before the summer is out. The NLG roster so far has a good number of receivers over 6’2” and that will give them a great advantage heading into these tournaments.
Keep checking back with PREPS.COM as we will give an update on Next Level Greats after they finalize their team rosters.
