Every year the most heated debate in high school football in Pennsylvania usually surrounds the players selected for the annual Big 33 Classic football game played every year in Hershey, Pennsylvania. This year I thought I’d start up the debate nice and early. Here are some cornerbacks that I think will get major consideration for the 2014 installment of the Big 33 Football Classic. (Note: I may forget some, and this isn’t the Big 33’s opinion!!)
Anthony Davis – Gateway – Davis committed to Temple earlier in the year but has since then opened up his recruitment.
Dravon Henry – Alquippa – West Virginia commit – Henry just committed to West Virginia earlier this afternoon.
Deandre Scott – Imhotep – Arizona State commit – Scott will be playing in the PIAA Class AA championship game this weekend.
Thadd Smith – Cardinal O’Hara – Boston College Commit – Smith is a physical cornerback that committed to Boston College before the season began.
Tyree Spearman – Erie McDowell – Spearman mostly played in a cover-2 scheme but is a physical cornerback.
James Warren – Steel-High – Warren is low-key one of the best players in the state. He had enough athleticism to play quarterback and lock wide receivers down on the defensive side of the ball.
