Preps.com recently had a chance to talk with one of Philly’s best running backs, Samir Bullock.  On the surface, it’s easy to see why Bullock, listed at 5’8″, 170 pounds, has gone a little bit under the radar with college coaches.  However, once you actually look at Bullock’s highlight video and see him play, it’s hard to deny Bullock the title of being one of the best running backs in Pennsylvania’s 2015 class.

First, let’s talk about his production during the 2013 season.  He was a 1st team All-State selection at running back in Class AAAA.  Bullock ran 261 times for 2,055 yards and 21 touchdowns through 11 games during the 2013 season.  In games against Frankford (Public League AAAA Champions), St. Joseph’s Prep (AAAA State Champs), and Archbishop Wood (AAA State Champs), Bullock averaged over 200 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns in each of those contests.  Those weren’t the little sisters of the poor that he was going against and that more than proves how real Bullock is as a football player.

Bullock has the speed (recently ran a 4.45 at the Nike Sparq Combine in New Jersey), the vision, the cutting ability, and the toughness you want in a running back.  Colleges are starting to show interest in Bullock.  “Temple, Villanova, Penn State, Old Dominion, and Purdue coaches have all come to see me at my school”, said Bullock.  There’s a strong possibility that he’ll be setting up visits to Villanova and Temple in the near future. Bullock also added that despite his size, all of the schools loved him as a football player and can see him possibly playing wide receiver at the next level as well.  In the meantime, Bullock has plans to play for “The Baller” 7v7 team during this spring.  As far as his game, he’s working on his hands, footwork, and strength.

Preps.com will keep you updated on Samir’s recruiting progress. Check out his 2013 season highlight video.
