One of the more under the radar players going into the offseason is Harrisburg High School’s Amechie Walker. Walker, a 5’11”, 175 pound junior, is starting to generate a lot of interest from Division 1 schools. Walker caught 35 passes for 476 yards and 4 touchdowns to go along with 2 kickoff return touchdowns during the 2013 season. With a 13.6 yards per catch receiving average, Walker became one of Harrisburg’s big playmakers alongside Big 33 nominated wideout Dequan Ware.
Walker is a real good route runner. He has the ability to cut on a dime and make people miss. He has good speed and is a good all-around football player. Simply put, Walker makes plays. That has not gone unnoticed by several coaches who have come to Harrisburg High School to inquire about Walker. Walker has been invited to the Junior Days of: Virginia Tech, Purdue, Central Florida, and Toledo. Walker will most likely be a slot receiver and return man at the next level.
