Last week, PREPS brought Harrisburg H.S. (PA) wide receiver Amechie Walker to your attention as a player who was starting to generate a lot of buzz.  Earlier today, PREPS was notified by Harrisburg’s head coach, Cal Everett, of Walker’s first football scholarship offer from the University of Toledo.  PREPS was able to speak briefly with Walker about today’s events.

“The head coach (Matt Campbell) said they like me as a slot receiver for them.  They also said that I remind them of the slot receiver they had last year (Bernard Reedy, who graduates this year and was invited to 2014 NFL combine)”, said Walker.  As we mentioned before, Walker is also receiving a lot of interest from Central Florida as well.

As far as the whole visit goes, Walker said, “It was an overall good experience and I’m looking forward to the recruiting process.”

Walker caught 35 passes for 476 yards and 4 touchdowns to go along with 2 kickoff return touchdowns during the 2013 season.
