The state of Illinois has seen their national profile increase within the past several years. Organizations such as Core 6 has helped turn the eyes of plenty of college coaches, especially in the Big Ten, onto the talent in the state of Illinois. One of those players who should get a lot more love in the upcoming months from colleges is Spencer Tears.
Tears, a wide receiver from Richlands High School, is one of the best all-purpose players returning in 2014. The 6’3″, 170 pound Tears is one of those players that you have no choice but to get the ball in their hands because you know they can score from any where on the field. The tall wide-out has speed and a good amount of shiftiness to him. He runs good routes and is a certified deep-threat. Tears is a beast in the kickoff and punt return game as he took several kicks back to the house for touchdowns in 2013.
Tears currently holds an offer from Toledo. You can also count on Tears to run the ball too as he took snaps as the quarterback in his team’s wildcat formation package. His overall versatility is what will make him a very attractive recruit to college coaches looking for a playmaker to add to their program.
Check out his 2013 season highlight video.
