When talking about Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, PA), the conversation usually starts with the very talented running back Andre Robinson (2015) and deservedly so. Robinson always gives credit to his offensive line and most of them come back for the 2014 season. One of those lineman , Anthony Long (2016), has already gotten the attention of plenty of Division 1 schools and might be the next “big” lineman recruit to come out of Bishop McDevitt.
Long currently has offers from: Georgia Tech, Maryland, Purdue, and Temple. A 6’3″, 290 pounds, Long plays both offensive and defensive tackle. Simply put, he is just nasty on both sides of the ball. It’s pretty early in his recruitment, and according to Long, coaches don’t know what side of the ball he’ll end up on down the line.
“They all like my size, speed, agility, and strength that I show out on the field”, said Long. He added, “They also like how smartly I play on the offensive side of the ball.”
One school that hasn’t offered yet that Long would like to hear from is Penn State. “I’ve gone on visits to watch games (Purdue and Nebraska”, said Long.
It’s early in the process but Long will definitely be in the double-digits with offers soon.
Check out his 2013 season highlights.
