Preps.com takes a closer look at the Top Ten performers from the New Jersey Nike Sparq Combine this past weekend in New Jersey.
1. Ayron Monroe – St. John’s High School (MD) – DB – 2015, 6’0″, 195
Monroe had the highest Sparq rating at the event. Monroe currently holds offers from Georgia Tech, Maryland, Virginia, and Toledo. As the “headliner” of this particular event, he certainly didn’t disappoint as he ran a 4.45 in the 40-yard dash (laser time).
2. Lex Rosario – Delaware Valley High School (PA) – RB – 2015, 5’11 1/2″, 180
Rosario had a top-ten finish in the vertical jump and showed his overall ability by finishing 2nd in the NJ Nike Sparq Combine. Rosario is a very athletic running back with nice vision and good footwork.
3. Jarvis Miller -Windsor Locks High School(CT) – DB – 2015, 6′, 1 1/2, 188
This is one very impressive two-way player. Impressive speed for a running back his size.
4. Rashaad Rice – Teaneck High School (NJ) – RB- 2016, 5’10 1/2″, 191
A player to watch for in the next couple of years. Started on varsity as a sophomore.
5. Clayton Rush – Father Judge (PA) – WR – 2015, 5’10 1/2, 165
He’s a good all-around wide receiver. Impressed with his willingness to block downfield. From a receiving standpoint, he is effective running all types of routes. Can take 5-7 yard catches and turn them into 15-20 yard gains.
6. Samir Bullock – Archbishop Ryan (PA) – RB – 2015, 5’7 1/2″, 168
Small in stature, but big in talent. He had one of the fastest 40-yard dash times at the event as he clocked in at 4.45 seconds. He rushed for over 2,000 yards and over 20 touchdowns in 2013. He is as real as they come.
7. Chandler Colberg – Cheshire Academy (CT) – WR-2015, 6’0″, 184
He’s a good all-around player on the offensive side of the ball. Plays on defense as well. Had the best Pro-Agility (4.16) on the day.
8. R.J. Edwards – St. Joseph Regional High School (NJ) – WR – 2015, 6′ 1/2″, 209
This is one physical, tough, and nasty wide receiver. Think Hines Ward.
9. John Robison – Dwight Morrow High School (NJ) – DB – 2015, 6’1/2″, 177
Not scared to come up and make a tackle. If anything else, his size makes him an interesting prospect at cornerback.
10. Mo Omar – Marlboro High School (NJ) – RB – 2015, 5.8 1/2, 156
Omar possesses vision, good speed, and a lot of quickness.
