With all of the changes going on at Penn State, including the hiring of new head coach James Franklin (former coach of Vanderbilt), Preps.com decided to check in with running back Andre Robinson of Bishop McDevitt High School (PA).  One of the other major changes, with a direct connection to Robinson, was defensive line coach Larry Johnson’s decision to leave Penn State after 18 years at the school.  Robinson currently has an offer from Penn State and Johnson was the main person recruiting him.

“I haven’t had a chance to talk to anybody on the new staff yet”, said Robinson.  That, of course, is due to the fact that the dead period is still in effect until Thursday of this week.  “I want to get to know coach (James) Franklin, the offensive coordinator, and the running backs coach”.

Robinson has made it known that he wants to stay close to home.  Things should pick up for Robinson once the dead period is over.

Robinson, Class AAA Player of the Year in Pennsylvania, rushed for 2,336 yards and 29 touchdowns off of 263 carries.  Robinson had his best performance in the District 3-AAA championship game against Manheim Central as he rushed for 287 yards and three touchdowns.  He averaged  150-plus yards in over half of the games he played in 2013.  Robinson, who is listed at 5’10”, 210 pounds, currently has eight offers from schools such as: Boston College, Maryland, Northwestern, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech.  After his 2013 season performance, one has to believe that there are plenty more that are knocking on his door.

Below are highlights from his 2013 season.
