Usually after the Big 33 team is announced, what follows most of the time are players who decide to back out of the annual game. Preps has learned, per Dave Trimbur, Director of the Big 33 Football Classic, that a total of six players have decided to back out of the game. Most notably, Dravon Henry of Alquippa High School, has decided not to play in the 2014 Big 33 Classic. Preps has learned of his replacement and five other replacements for the six players who decided not to play. Below are the new replacements
Chase Edmonds – Central Dauphin East – Running Back (Fordham University commit)
Christian Lezzer – Clearfield – (Boston College commit)
Elijah Zeise – North Allegheny – (Pittsburgh commit)
Felix Manus-Schell – Erie Prep – (Old Dominion commit)
Mark Pyles – Lebanon – Quarterback – (Bucknell commit)
Patrick Amara – West Catholic – Safety (Pittsburgh Commit)
The only confirmed player to back out of the game is Dravon Henry.
(UPDATE) J.J. Consentino (Central Catholic, Florida State commit) has also backed out due to having to report to Florida State in the beginning of June.
