Widely considered the best tight end in Pennsylvania’s 2016 class, Naseir Upshur’s recruitment is about to truly take off in the upcoming months. The 6’4″. 225 pound sophomore ,out of Imhotep H.S. in Philadelphia, already holds offers from: UConn, UMass, Temple, Cincinatti, Western Michigan and Arizona State. Upshur has already impressed colleges with his ferocious blocking and speed. Upshur has recently gotten interest from Michigan as well.
In the past month, Michigan, Western Michigan, Temple, Arizona State, and Rutgers all have paid him a visit. He says he has spoken with a coach at Penn State but has not received an offer yet. When I asked him about schools that he’d like to offer him, Upshur said, “I’m waiting for Michigan to offer. I also like UCLA, South Carolina, and Georgia Teach alot.”
Even though it’s only February, Upshur has already started to map out where he’ll be going in the upcoming months. “I’ve been invited to the spring football games for Arizona State and South Carolina”, said Upshur. ” I will also visit UCLA in the summer.”
In the meantime, Upshur is doing what he needs to do in order to prepare for the 2014 season. “I’m working on my footwork and lifting weights everyday”, said Upshur.
Will Michigan be next to offer the impressive Upshur? Only time will tell.
