Every year the most heated debate in high school football in Pennsylvania usually surrounds the players selected for the annual Big 33 Classic football game played every year in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  This year I thought I’d start up the debate nice and early.  Here are some quarterbacks that I think will get major consideration for the 2014 installment of the Big 33 Football Classic.

Top Two Contenders

Andrew Ford – Cedar Cliff

Ford threw for 2,776 yards and 35 touchdowns during his senior campaign.  Ford has committed to play football at Virginia Tech University.  The southpaw made his whole receiving core better as players.

J.J. Cosentino – Pittsburgh Central Catholic

Consentino committed to Florida State earlier this year and has helped lead Central Catholic to the PIAA Class AAAA Western Final game.  Consentino is a big kid with a big arm.

Others Who Should Get Consideration

Lenny Williams – Sto-Rox H.S.

Williams finished his career as the all-time leading passer in the WPIAL.  Williams finished his career with over 10,000 yards on offense (over 8,000 passing).

Jaquan Davidson – Elizabeth Forward H.S.

He came into the 2013 season under the radar, but he has earned himself a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh. He is considered to be a dual-threat quarterback.

Mark Pyles – Lebanon

Even though Pyles committed to Bucnkell as a linebacker, it’s hard to ignore the 2,824 passng yards along with the 25 passing touchdowns.

Billy Fessler – Cathedral Prep

Fessler has thrown for 2,945 yards and 41 touchdowns for Erie Cathedral Prep this year.  Fessler has led Cathedral Prep to another PIAA Class AAA Western Final game as well.

Dashawn Darden – Cardinal O”Hara

Darden finishes his career at Cardinal O’Hara as one it’s most decorated players in the school’s history. During his career,  Darden started 30 games, gained 4,574 all-purpose yards, and scored 58 touchdowns.

Who else do you think should be considered?
