In a move that PREPS was anticipating would happen sooner than later, Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, PA) running back Andre Robinson gave a verbal commitment to the Penn State Nittany Lions.  PREPS confirmed this with Robinson via phone texts.   Robinson, currently a junior, had visited Penn State this past week and sources told PREPS that Robinson would most likely commit within the next few weeks.  Some may be surprised at how early he gave his commitment, but it’s not really a surprise when he made it known that he wanted to play his collegiate ball as close to home as possible.

About a month ago, may thought Ohio State would be a big player in Robinson’s recruitment after they offered the all-state running back.  But after his latest visit to Penn State, all signs pointed to Robinson committing to Penn State sooner than later.  Coach James Franklin and Penn State have now locked up the two best running backs in the state in the class of 2015 with Robinson and Saquon Barkley.

Preps plans to talk to Robinson about his verbal commitment to Penn State in the upcoming days.
