Name: Curan Simmons
Height and Weight: 5’10”, 155
High School : Prep Charter H.S. in Philadelphia, PA
2013 Statistics: 63 catches, 1,013 yards receiving, 11 receiving touchdowns in 10 games
2013 Notables: Voted 2nd team Class AA All-State in PA. Averaged 101.2 yards per game receiving which ranks him #3 all time in the Philadelphia High School football history. His 63 catches rank him #3 all-time.
Recruitment Outlook: According to one of his high school coaches, he’s getting a lot of interests from some PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) schools.
Cleezy’s Take: There’s no question about production when it comes to Simmons. The Philadelphia Public League is notoriously under-recruited and there are a lot of players that slip through the cracks. There might be some colleges at the Division 1 level that may not give him a shot due to his size at the position that he plays. He plays much bigger than his listed weight and height and competes for the ball when it’s in the air. Simmons has nice acceleration and some shiftiness to his game. If no Division 1 schools give him look, Simmons can definitely play on the Division 2 level in the PSAC. Check out his highlights from the 2013 season here.
