About two months ago, PREPS hit you with the “Ten Hottest Names In The Game” list to start the year off. With 7v7’s, Spring Evaluations, and other events coming up in the next couple months, PREPS decided to give an update to that list.  Note: It’s not so much about the offers, but who has some of the biggest buzz at the time.

John Reid – Cornerback – St. Joseph’s Prep (2015)

Reid is obviously a mainstay on this list, but he just upped the ante by finally getting that offer from the University of Alabama.  My friends, it doesn’t get too much better than that.

Brandon McIlwain – Quarterback – Council Rock North (2016)  ****New To the List****

I don’t know if anybody else in the state of Pennsylvania has seen their stock rise as much as McIlwain’s in the last 30 days.  McIlwain now holds over 10 offers that include the likes of: Clemson, Auburn, Ohio State, Penn State, and Florida. He’s looking like he’ll be the most recruited quarterback to come out of Pennsylvania in the last several years at this rate.

Andre Robinson – Running Back – Bishop McDevitt (2015)

Most people were under the assumption that Robinson wouldn’t decide this early.  Then, James Franklin was hired at Penn State.  Several weeks later and one visit, Robinson gives his a verbal commitment to the Nittany Lions.  That, my friends, is a big deal.

Saquon Barkley – Running Back – Whitehall (2015)

When we last checked in, Barkley had verbally committed to Rutgers.  Barkley flipped to Penn State and now give the Nittany Lions the two best running backs in Pennsylvania.

Ryan Bates – Offensive Lineman – Archbishop Wood (2015)

Bates, one of the best offensive linemen in the Northeast, verbally committed to Penn State within the last month.

Shareef Miller – Defensive End – Frankford (2015)

Well, the memo about Miller obviously went out and after the “quiet period” was over, he blew up.  He’s collected five-plus more offers since then from schools such as: Purdue, Virginia, West Virginia, Temple, and Penn State.  Miller recently visited one of the schools that offered him early in the process, Rutgers, this past weekend.

Jay Stocker – Safety/Wide Receiver – Coatesville (2015)

Stocker currently holds over ten offers including: Virginia, Georgia  Tech, Maryland, Rutgers, and Pitt.  He just added one from Villanova today.  Stocker is an excellent safety and wide receiver.  He’ll get more of a chance to showcase his ability this year at wide receiver with all-world running back Daquan Worley graduating and going to Penn State this fall.

Josh Adams – Running Back – Central Bucks South (2015)

Adams is a big-time talent even though his public profile is pretty lowkey.  He currently holds offers from several schools including: Penn State, Pittsburgh, Stanford, and Notre Dame.  It will be nice to see him back on the field in 2014.

Jake Cooper – Linebacker – Archbishop Wood (2015)   ****New To the List****

Cooper is a throwback type of linebacker with athleticism.  Penn State is “Linebacker U”.  It wasn’t too much of a surprise to see Cooper commit to PSU last month.  I guessCoach Franklin really did mean that “Dominate The State” thing, huh?

Ryan Bucholz – Defensive End – Great Valley (2015)

The 6’6″, 230 pound, Bucholz may have been overlooked the first time around, but not the second.  His size alone is impressive, but he also is very athletic for his size.  He committed to Penn State in late February.
