One of New Jersey’s rising sophomores is Wide Receiver Irvin Charles out of Paul IV High School. Listed at 6’4”, 205 pounds, Charles currently has offers from UMass and Temple. Charles finished the 2012 season with 15 catches for 263 yards (17.53 ypc) and one receiving touchdown. Charles already has a division-1 type frame for a wide receiver. Charles has solid hands and is not afraid to catch the ball in traffic. Charles also has the speed to get by defensive backs and the height to out-jump defensive backs for the ball. His highlight video showcases his ability to run all kinds of routes. Charles currently plays for the Next Level Greats 7v7 team during the offseason. In the upcoming months, the stock of Irvin Charles should continue to increase.
UPDATE: While writing this article, PREPS.COM learned that Charles had received his third offer from Rutgers University. Charles is also hearing from more than a handful of schools including: Maryland, Penn State, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Virginia, Kansas, Florida State, Old Dominion, and Illinois.
