PREPS.COM prides itself on promoting players that are”under the radar”. One of these “under the radar” players is Mike Viti of Cedar Cliff High School in Central Pennsylvania. Viti, listed at 6’1″, 175 pounds, is one of the better two-way players in Pennsylvania’s class of 2016. On the offensive side of the ball, Viti caught 19 passes for 313 yards and 3 touchdowns.
There are a lot of things to like about Viti. With leading receiver Jake Scott graduating, Viti figures to become more of a focal point in Cedar Cliff’s passing game this upcoming season. Viti may be as equally good on the defensive side of the ball as well. He has the speed and technique to cover wide receivers man-to-man and has excellent ball skills. From an wide receiver standpoint, Viti is very explosive off the line of scrimmage and has no problem beating jams off the line-of-scrimmage. He comes in and out of his routes smoothly and has excellent hands. From a defensive back standpoint, Viti can play either cornerback or safety position and be a factor. Viti is good in zone and man coverage and has nice closing speed.
Viti is definitely a player to keep an eye on during this 7v7/camp season. Check out his 2013 season highlights here.
