Michael Lewis, a 2015 quarterback out of Palmyra High School, was paid a visit by the University of Pennsylvania earlier today. Coach Jim Shafer, Penn’s defensive line coach, stopped by to talk to Lewis about a number of things including their Junior Day and Spring Game.
Lewis threw for 1,651 yards and 14 touchdowns on a Palmyra team that went 1-9 during the 2013 season. Despite that, Lewis has done enough so far to spark some interest from the Ivy League School. “He (Coach Shafer) told me how he liked my quickness and ability to throw on the run and outside of the pocket. He also said he liked my accuracy”, said Lewis. “I’m going to their Junior Day on February 22nd. He also invited me to their spring game”.
Time will tell whether or not Penn will ultimately offer Lewis. Lewis did mention a few things that he already likes about Penn. “I like the competitiveness of their football team and the wide range of academy majors to choose from”, said Lewis.
