Preps.com has been spending a lot of time in the City of Brotherly Love (Philadelphia) lately for good reasons. Some of the talent in the 2015 and 2016 classes will definitely make Southeastern Pennsylvania a “go-to” spot for college coaches. One of those players that some college coaches are already taking a closer look at is sophomore athlete Yeedee Thaenrat of Father Judge in Philadelphia.
Thaenrat, listed at 5’10”, 180 pounds, is one of the best two-way players in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Thaenrat got recognition as one of the best defensive backs in all of Philadelphia by earning 1st-team honors on the All-City and Philadelphia Catholic league all-star teams. He rushed for over 1,000 yards and 9 touchdowns while sharing carries with Marquis Seamon (will graduate this spring). He also accounted for over 90 tackles and 3 interceptions (including one for a touchdown) during the 2013 season.
Thaenrat is a physical player and that’s very evident on the defensive side of the ball. He will hit you. A number of schools have already shown interest in him. Penn State and Virginia plan to come to his school to see him work out in the spring time. He’s also heard from South Carolina and most recently Georgia Tech. The school that’s showing the most interest right now is Rutgers. There’s no doubt that you’ll be hearing big things about Thaenrat in the next two years.
