Preps.com takes a look at some of the Philly are wide receivers who have had the best performances halfway through the regular season. There are some “known” and some “unknown” players featured on today’s list. Is it the eight BEST wide receivers? No. But they’re having seasons so far that have earned them a mention on this list. If you have any players to suggest, email me at paswag7on7@gmail.com.

Thaddius Smith – Cardinal O’Hara – 5’10”, 175- Class of 2014 – 17 catches/257 yards/6 receiving TD’S
The most dominant player out of the group is Delane Hart. You don’t see too many Philly Public league wide receivers go over 1,000 yards receiving during a season. Hart is on pace to do just that. Jamal Custis will most likely end up being a tight end at the next level. Nydair Rouse gets overlooked due to the run-heavy offense that he plays in, but he has good size for a wide receiver and makes the most out of his opportunities. You don’t hear of Ben Franklin too much outside of the Philly Public league, but they have a big play receiver in junior Javier Buffalo. Curran Simmons is the go-to guy for Prep Charter. Thaddius Smith, a Boston College Recruit, is the most polished out of all the receivers on the list. Keep an eye on LaSalle’s Jimmy Herron and D.J. Moore. Both are only juniors and play on teams that should make deep runs into the postseason.
