Preps.com will start taking a look at class of 2015, 2016, and even 2017 prospects on prospective teams throughout the Northeast region of the United States. Today we’ll take a look at four of the underclassmen defensive prospects on the Bishop McDevitt football team out of Central Pennsylvania.
Brandon Stanback – 6’0”, 190 – Strong Safety – Class of 2015
Stanback is a player that impressed me from the very first game that he played in during the 2013 season. He’s everything you want in a strong safety. Stanback provides great support against the run but can cover as well.
JoeJoe Headen – 5’11”, 155, Cornerback – Class of 2016
I think we’ll see a big improvement in Headen during the offseason. It’s not easy being out there on an island in McDevitt’s defense that employs mostly a man-to-man scheme.
Greg Artis-Payne – 6’0”, 200, Linebacker, Class of 2015
Que’Shawn Jenkins – 6’0″, 210, Linebacker, Class of 2015
Artis-Payne and Jenkins are two of the more underrated linebackers in Eastern Pennsylvania. If either one of them grows an inch or two, it’ll help their recruitment because they both can flat out play.
