Preps.com will start taking a look at class of 2015, 2016, and even 2017 prospects on prospective teams throughout the Northeast region of the United States. Today we’ll take a look at some of the underclassmen prospects on the Harrisburg Cougars football team out of Harrisburg, PA.
On the down low, Amechie Walker is one of the top 5 playmakers coming back in the Mid-Penn football conference. Walker established himself as an all-around weapon for the Cougars as a wide-receiver, punt returner, kick returner, and occasionally as a ball-carrier. He should emerge as the go-to guy this year for quarterback Mikale Clark. Walker has good speed and is very elusive.
The first year signal caller threw for 1,812 yards and 16 touchdowns during the 2013 season. Towards the end of the 2013 season, you could see Clark progress as a quarterback as he almost hit the 2,000 yard passing mark in his first season as a starter.
With injuries to Rob Martin (season-ending) and Darian Davis-Ray during the 2013 season, Snell saw more carries than probably expected and showed some promise. Snell possesses excellent footwork for a running back his size and can burst through holes with a quickness that is impressive. He runs with power but can also get to the outside as well.
Pound for Pound, Ritter is one of the strongest linemen in the Mid-Penn conference. He saw some time at center as well during the 2013 season. It will be interesting to see if he gets time on the defensive side of the ball as well in 2014.
