It was only a preseason game, but J.T. Blyden showed that he was worth the wait as he made his debut for Cardinal O’Hara in a scrimmage this past Saturday against Chichester High School. Blyden had to sit out last season, but he was able to still earn several scholarship offers from schools such as Eastern Michigan and Rutgers. Blyden committed to Massachusetts on July 1st of this year. Cardinal O’Hara is absolutely loaded offensively with Dashawn Darden (QB), Thadd Smith (ATH-Boston College commit), and several other playmakers. Adding the 5’10”, 190 pound Blyden to the mix makes Cardinal O’Hara one of the best teams in the state in Class AAA.
Blyden scored a total of four touchdowns (one TD catch, one short TD run, and two long TD runs). Add him to the list of home run hitters on the Cardinal O’Hara football team. It’s only one scrimmage game, but I think it’s safe to say that he’ll be a special player to watch this year.
