In the early stages of 7 on 7 tournaments, New Level Athletics (now Pylon Camps) was at the forefront of what is now a booming 7v7 football industry. Before it was disallowed, New Level Athletics held many of it’s 7v7 competitions on the campuses of some of the best college football teams in the nation. In 2010, NLA had their National Championship tournament on that campus of the University of Alabama. That year featured a TON of stars from across the United States. Some of these kids have made a name for themselves in the time since that tournament in Alabama.
The 2010 NLA National Championship game featured the 1925 Productions (out of California, coached by Keyshawn Johnson and Brian Kelly) and the South Florida Express (out of Florida). Both teams featured two players who are now household names among college football fans. The South Florida Express featured quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and 1925 Productions featured DeAnthony “Black Mamba” Thomas. Thomas played mostly defensive back that whole weekend while Bridgewater sliced and diced defenses the whole weekend. Thomas is currently playing for Oregon Ducks. Bridgewater ended up playing at Louisville and recently declared for the 2014 NFL Draft.
