One of the more highly sought after WPIAL recruits in the class of 2012 was USC alum Dakota Conwell. Conwell was a star 2 way player for his Panthers captaining them to the WPIAL championship where they fell short to North Allegheny. Conwell was unfortunately too injured to impact the game and only played a few series.
With offers from Maryland, Toledo, and Temple, Conwell committed to Pitt in the summer going into his senior year. With a sudden coaching change, he flipped his commitment to Arizona to play linebacker for Rich Rodriguez.
Unfortunately for Conwell, concussions caused him to give up Arizona football, but he hasn’t given up on the game just yet. Being a QB in high school, Conwell has decided to take his talents down to West Liberty University, a small D2 school in West Virginia, to be their signal caller. A dynamic dual-threat QB in high school, Conwell will surely create plays for his new team.
There’s no doubt West Liberty landed a great one in Conwell, who can bring the D2 program success.
