It’s often rare to have an athlete in the WPIAL that has been as prolific as Terrelle Pryor. Throwing Pryor’s name around isn’t taken lightly, and when it is thrown around, people should take notice.
Brianna Schwartz from Shaler Area High School is the Terrelle Pryor of Women’s Track. Shattering state records constantly, it’s about time she gets the recognition she rightfully deserves.
She just recently finished her indoor track season ranked #1 in the USA. She recently won her second State Title in a row in the mile coming in at 4:42. Her indoor track accolades don’t stop there. She finished with the #1 time in the USA in her 1600, giving her the state record for not only to mile, but the 1600. She also finished first in the 800 in the state of PA.
Put it this way, if Brianna were already in college as a freshman, those numbers would rank her at 28 in the nation. For a high school woman to be this prolific and not get the media attention she deserves is asinine.
Oh, by the way, she’s only a Junior. There’s no doubt that Bri is destined for big things in track. She still has one more year in high school and she already has a resume stacked to the ceiling.
She has been receiving college attention but is unsure where she will still go. We here at preps.com wish Bri the best of luck and will continue to follow her throughout her career.
