In this years 2014 Recruiting class the WPIAL is loaded with big time talent, and one of the biggest recruit’s in this years class in Offensive and Defensive lineman Alex Bookser from Mt. Lebanon. Bookser is coming into his senior campaign towering over his competition at 6’6 290. And with a loaded Mt. Lebanon team behind him Bookser looks to be playing until at least late November. Finestpreps.com Recently spoke to Alex regarding his recruitment and what kind of final high school season Bookser is looking to have.

Alex has been rolling in the offers from all over the nations elite programs and from just about every major conference. Just last week Bookser gained an offer from arguably the nation’s most elite program, The Alabama Crimson Tide. When speaking with Alex about the impact of his Alabama offer he said “It seems extremely important to a lot of media people, and a bunch of people at my school told me congratulations when they found out, which was weird because they hadn’t really done that before, so I think that made it special in a way.” Bookser was extremely pleased with the Alabama offer, he is looking to play at the program that is going to give him the best opportunity to play on Sundays which he said is his ultimate goal, and their are not many other programs that produce NFL players as often as the Crimson Tide.

Bookser has been receiving offers from both sides of the ball which could possibly make an impact on his final college decision, but Bookser seems to be open to playing either or both positions in college. Bookser jokingly had this to say about the topic “I’m pretty open to both, and if I say I’m more into defense or offense I’ll have someone freaking out on me so I’m just going to say I like both” Bookser is looking to visit a decent number of schools he is interested in between now and the end of summer. He is going to wait until the summer to visit some school’s further away like Georgia Tech and Florida state to just
name a few.

Bookser and his Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils have high hopes and even higher expectations coming into this upcoming season. For his personal stats Alex wants to make the PA first team All-State team, and wants to be known as the top lineman in the state of Pennsylvania. With Alex’s skill set and ability this looks to be a very achievable goal. And for the goal of his team Alex is first shooting for a Conference title, which may very well run right through Upper St. Clair or Woodland Hills, Alex is also looking forward to making a big run at the AAAA Wpial Championship.
