FinestPreps has been hammering away at some of the top high school football prospects in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area.
Today we make another trip back to the “Steel City” and take a look at a prospect who is on the brink of superstardom.
The Perry Commodores (Pittsburgh, Pa.) were absolutely stacked with talent on the gridiron this past year.
We’ve already profiled a couple of prospects from Perry Academy with bright football futures, including Devin Ghafoor and Greg McGhee.
Who’s the latest star out of Perry Traditional Academy who is ready to get his shine on?
Take a good look at Brendan Edwards (pictured above–right).
The gifted playmaker for Perry Academy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recently filed the paperwork to ensure that he will be transferring to Imani Christian Academy (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and suiting up for head coach Harvey Smith this fall.
Blessed with excellent ball skills, Edwards very well may be one of the top cover corners in the 2013 recruiting class.
He’s made quite the name for himself this summer on the W PA SWAG 7-on-7 team, locking down some of the top receivers in the country.
W PA SWAG recently won a 7-on-7 tournament at Toledo University and they made it look en route to the championship.
There’s no question Edwards has been a big part of the team’s success and he’s been locking down his side of the field time and time again.
As a sophomore, Edwards snatched up five interceptions for Perry Academy this past year.
He also hauled in five touchdown catches as a receiver.
The speedy playmaker is also lightning quick after he gets his hands on the football.
Currently listed at 5’9, 150 pounds, Edwards still has plenty of room to grow since he’s just entering his junior season this fall.
One of the top prospects in the 2013 recruiting class—look for Edwards to continue to get his shine on for Imani Christian Academy the next two years!
College football coaches across the country better take notice–otherwise the talented playmaker will be tormenting them for years to come!
