For his first article at FinestPreps–Picca recently did a spotlight on a talented phenom that likely none of you have heard about!
Who am I talking about?
This special talent will be the youngest prospect to grace the FinestPreps.com site so far.
Who is the next star waiting in the wings?
That would be Erik Swenson–a gargantuan human being that is 6’5, 250 pounds and he’s only 13 years old.
Check out Dan Picca‘s report on Swenson below!
“Yep, it starts that early. There was a 12 year old offensive lineman, Erik Swenson, that could be an offer kid right now. He’s 6’4″, 240 pounds with feet.” NCSA Scout Randy Taylor
Swen Swenson is a large man (6’8″, 325 pounds) and immensely proud of his Nordic heritage. His business, Thor Defense, was named after the mythical character of supernatural abilities. The company provides tactical gear expertise to the military. Twelve years ago, Swen did his best to convince his then pregnant spouse to name their son Thor as well.
His wife Diana struck that idea down with the force of Mjolnir.
“That’s a name more suited for a dog!” she proclaimed.
So the Swenson’s agreed on Erik. The “final k” spelling a salute to Dad’s Scandinavian roots.
The legendary Thor, who stood 6’6″ and weighed 640 pounds, could soon be dwarfed by Erik Swenson. Erik stands 6’5″ and tips the scales at 250 pounds. He’s currently thirteen years old.
Lest you think that this man-child is a plodding physical freak of nature, think again. Erik is a four-year starter for his lacrosse team. So agile and quick on his feet that he plays offense, scoring double-digit goals. A skilled basketball player with fluid moves in and around the hoop, opposing players’ parents insist on looking at his birth certification for verification. Would you risk your well-being taking a charge from Erik in the open court?
Marvel Comics might want to do a football edition of Erik’s on-the-field exploits. He attended the first ever JuniorRank camp in the suburbs of Chicago at age 11. In those days, all the kids were mixed together.
“I was a little scared and nervous at that first camp!” Erik told me.
Those nerves didn’t last very long. Erik walked away with the prestigious “Diamond In The Rough” award, the trophy given to the most promising newcomer.
