Who’s the hot prospect from the state of Illinois you should look out for?
Mike Pendleton has more in his report below!
Love of the game, commitment, and hard-work. Young players in high school football must key in on those three essential elements if they want to become successful and have their name recognized during their recruiting process.
For Morgan Park’s Khairi Bailey (Morgan Park, Illinois) he doesn’t just key in on those three essentials, he lives by them.
The 6’4″ 230-pound defensive end is looking to explode onto the scene as he prepares for his upcoming junior season.
As a sophomore, Bailey totaled 9 sacks and 40 tackles for Morgan Park.
He also called it a “learning season for myself in which I learned about what I will need to do in order to take that next big step for my football career.”
When it comes to his college recruiting process, Bailey states that the most important pieces are “obtaining offers and visiting the university to make sure that they have everything I’m looking for in both their football and academic programs.”
As far as the schools that have already shown interest in this young but talented player, Bailey has heard from the likes of: Princeton, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
While the list is only at three, Bailey still has two more seasons to prove his worth, which he will certainly do.
As far as those who will come in contact with Bailey during his high school career and future college career he has some thoughts that he wants everyone to know. “I understand this is said a lot by many players, but I am in love with football.
“There is nothing I wouldn’t do out on the field to get my team the victory. When it comes to college I am fully committed that wherever I may end up, I will give my everything to the team, day in and day out.”
As far as his strengths in football, Bailey says his “knowledge of the game, physical strength, and toughness to never quit” are what make him a dominant force in high school football.
High school football talent is all over the country, but it seems as if the Chicago area and its surrounding suburbs have been making noise of late.
Khairi Bailey is certainly a big part of that loud noise.
For Bailey, he’ll stay committed, continue to work hard, and hold his strong love for football, because he understands that football is not only talent but is also the amount of work that one player puts in.
Those who dedicate themselves to something they love will always have a bright future.
For Khairi Bailey, his football future is certainly bright.
